November, Boosted, and Routines

Today I got my "booster"! I came home and grabbed lunch and jumped online. So far I am just sore, very sore. But I have no"must" commitments  for today or  tomorrow, so things are okee-dokee-for the moment.

Also, the shoes (the diabetic shoes) arrived. I love them deeply and truly, but I ordered at least a size to large (they only come in wide and ordered a ten) even with inserts. I will be exchanging for size! They are very comfortable to put on and easy to fasten and once they are sized properly they will be my very comfortable indoor house shoes. Eventually I'll also get a pair of comfy slippers.

That's a lot of heel space!

Meanwhile, November is here. We're having a couple cold ones here with a low today of 36 and a high in the fifties and then we get up to normal north Texas weather of high in the seventies and low in the mid forties for awhile. I have three of my daughter's patio plants outside and I'm going with "it won't really get down to 36", and hope I don't live to regret it.

My goals for the November are simple:

1. To get my fall/winter Texas style schedule in place, especially when it comes to the morning. Right now I am getting up, having my prayer and meditation time, eating, dressing and picking up the house and walking for at least ten minutes before my half our of online workout/aerobic options (I also walk to break up time during the day). Hopefully this leaves the rest of my day for studio and reading time with the occasional out of the house social foray.

2. To work on Christmas plans, sewing and the earning of gift cards for family. I'll never get as many cookies or crafts made as I want, but the early bird gets the worm (and hopefully the energy) and then I can just be  snacking on those cookies and eggnog  and relaxing in the days leading to the Holidays.

 3. To do the small amount of winter prep necessary (Hell Freezing Over aside), to prepare for winter in Texas when you live in a managed community. The community is actually having a presentation by the city on Winter Emergency Preparedness and I may need to wander over.

4. Healthwise, to continue lowering my carbs and fat, increase exercise time, and continue with my ever loving PT!

I also have some November round the house to dos, starting with moving the Halloween part  of the fall decor out of the rooms, getting some fall baking done, and all that other good stuff.

I've decided that the hobby I want from my daughter is weaving and sent her a picture of a table top tapestry loom. LOL.

  1. Those look really comfortable. That's wonderful. Gosh... I been avoiding thinking about the holidays. But you're right... I need to start focusing.

  2. Is there a link for the online aerobics? Weaving sounds like great fun! I like your shoes. I need slippers for indoors, too. In facilities like yours, it disturbs me that the people must vacate the place and go elsewhere if they lose electricity or water. I do hope your plants make it.

  3. We do not vacate of we lose electricity or water. I use a variety of exercises almost all found in you tube. Elder gymn, silver sneakers and others. There are a million free low impact and chair aerobic choices and I don't use the same one.

  4. Thanks for the review of the shoes. I was waiting until you said something before I ordered them. I like wearing shoes in the house during the winter because my feet get too cold in flip flops but they have to be really comfortable
I hope you get everything you hope to get done completed easily. Weaving could be very relaxing.

  5. The shoes do look comfortable but I would be afraid of them being so loose. You have done so well incorporating exercise into your day. I need to do better. Thanks for the nudge.

  7. Please do return those shoes for a better fit. You've got a trip/fall hazard with these and I know balance/stability is one of your challenges. (Orthopedic RNs never truly retire ;-)

    1. Yes. I'm just wavering between the 9 and nine and a half. They only come in wide. I'm also ordering slippers.

  8. I got a booster. Little bit of a sore arm afterwards. That's all. We don't start Christmas until after T'giving. But then, we don't do crafts, so it's easier, altho' perhaps not as much fun.

  9. I do like the shoes, they definitely look very comfortable. Your list of things to accomplish is always lengthy. You never get bored!

    1. This is more of a tapestry loom than a scratch. It stands upright on a table.

  12. I would e interested in seeing what kind of loom you have and maybe some of the projects you finished with it. I am always looking for new craft ideas.
