The Social Distance Project List

This is my list of projects that I want to work on through June while I am home bound (and may be for longer) some of these are ongoing projects and some are thingsto do in an afternoon. I'm obviously a gal with alot of hobbies and have a house of things to do, but I figure a little specific direction will help me from those days when I sit down and read and look up and it's dinner time. And even the most hobby centric person needs some motivation and encouragement-especially in times like these.  Let's see how many of these I mange to fulfill, shall we?  This is a changing list, many are moving targets........and many of the goals will move beyond May.

Family/Genealogy related.

Work on the recipe binder I have been talking about making for my son, creating at least one printable recipe with graphics or picture each week. Finally starting on this (May first)

Start a letter writing family history type journal that talks to my kids about their history and their grandparents and their dad. Write a minimum of one long letter our journal like page each week. I tried making this my nightime relaxing in bed activity but much of the writing was illegible and disjointed so now I am sitting down and writing about an event or a family photo or memory each week. Note two..I am doing this by hand and if I get to type it later but I want this to be a journal from me.

Sign up for ancestry in May and work on my two projects (husbands family genealogy and tracing my daughter's birth dad's history only for information relating to health. Which is becoming really hard) Signed up and on going, depending on the day. May first-still trying to decie if I will transfer to a long term subscription or leave and cme back.

Make a family tree shadow box that has pictures and traditional tree/pedigree type chart.

Talk to my daughter in real time once a week in Texas and my brother and sister-in-law as well. May first: this continues.

Creative/Craft Related:

Make a wall sampler using all of my sewing machine stitches at different lengths and in widths and in different colors (multi day project)

Do one art project each week from a Utube tutorial or other source-Tentatively water color, watercolor pencils, acrylic abstract and paint pouring projects.

Work on and finish the sweater I started which is my first piece of clothing that is knitted ever. On hold until more yarn arrives but usually my evening TV project.

Make a weaving sampler on my mini loom.

Make a patriotic Mini quilt and table set

Try to finish half the blocks for daughter's Tshirt quilt.

Knit different patterend bright washcloths out of my various single skeins of yarn. Do one a week.

Home and Organization Related

Go through my closet and inventory my clothes and make a capsule wardrobe and a list of what I will need in my new climate Mainly done and I will post specifics on this when I get there.

Make a master shopping and stock up list of every single thing we buy and I would buy in Texaswith a goal of having two weeks of perishables and a month's worth of non perishables. Thisis as much due to my not wanting to shop as it is our current smi disaster preparations

Completely re-arrange my sewing room from top to bottom (with full use of the youthful labor now on hand) Step one is done. The basket that were staced against the wall are in the basement and my bakers rack storage shelf is in the closet (I took off the door so make this an open storage area.

Entertainment/Enrichment

Try to watch all the Oscar best movies that I have not seen (it's a fairly short list and most of them are more recent, like The Artist) My intent was good on this one but I think it may be a fail.

Practice some German conversation daily or read a German publication.

Try to watch an online course at least three times a week (Great courses Genealogy and The Aging Brain are in my watchlist and I want to get at least one finished by June).

Texas Move related and/or Travel Related

Start a list of everything I would need to buy in Texas (not taking a moving van) and price it out.

Make a list of short (five or so) list of day trips to places that I can visit that I have missed so far and may not get to once I arrive in Texas This is obviously now questionable in the current climate I suppose. Day trips, maybe?

Cooking/Baking:

Make Homemade muffins

Make a real custard pie (long, very long story)

Social/Community/outreach

Have a Zoom coffee once a week with my retired gals.

Join my church's weekly bible study on Wednesdays (virtual of course) so that I can see my church pals in person.

See if my sister and sister in law want to do a virtual sip and paint class together.

Health/Self care:

Do one half hour of aerobic exercisse five days a week -I now rearranged my bedroom a bit so i cn do that in private and not tke over the living room and kick folks out.

Do morning and bedtime in bed stretches.
