Instead, totally out of my comfort zone, I'm deep into (the middle of season four) Schitt's Creek. This from a woman who doesn't watch so much as five minutes of your average sitcom no matter how funny well done, and who has so far managed to not understand the attraction of either the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel or Fleabag. What can I say, it's quirky,. I love the characters and I keep wanting to see what happens! Seriously, I am loving this show, people.
Have no fear though, then I'll be back in character, as I finally jump into Happy Valley. All while I'm counting the hours and days until season two of Altered Carbon hits the airwaves in February.
What can I say, its dark in the evening, I'm lazy, and I have knitting to do which hits the spot. When I'm not reading that is.
I finally got the new Harlan Coben book from the library, and for others who read the guy, well, I am just not sure what I think of the whole thing. Honestly, I generally review my books and I don't know what to put and it's a day later. Normally I only read the Myron Bolitar (as opposed to the different stand along books), so this one was already out of my comfort zone. I theory the idea of this book is what someone would do to save their child, but after that it goes off the map. And while the last page is a complete game changer to the book it was a little unrealistic to me. So those of you who love ole Harlan will probably love it but it was just an okay read for me.
At this moment I have no working fiction on tap (although I have four or five back ups still to read on my kindle and am on hold for a bunch of new best sellers as well as the new Michael Crichton and the new Margaret Atwood tomes). Instead I'm into a few page turners having to do with quilting, felt embroidery and essential oils. Trying to feed my brain as well as selecting new projects I suppose.
Today was one of those no waste food days. We had leftover hamburgers (because the store gave me a ten pack since they were out of four packs and we cooked them all), leftover corned beef and cabbage, a half of quiche and a couple brats. Everyone fended for themselves and will pack up or eat the extras for lunch and hopefully we will beat the food waste monster and have nothing old or gone bad to feed the trash monster on Friday.
And now I'm off to play with my fabrics and see how little I can get away with purchasing for my beach and upcoming hibiscus flower quilts. Obviously there will be fabric, the question is only how much. Because........fabric. There is never too much.
Glad you're enjoying Schitt's Creek! The quality of Canadian humour is our best-kept secret!
ReplyDeleteI know!
DeleteI have never seen or heard of those shows! I am familiar with Michael Crichton and Margaret Atwood. You sound busy and content.
ReplyDeleteThey are all top rated shows on Netflix and the Irushman is nominated for some Academy Awards.
DeleteI love Schitt's Creek. I think it is so well written. Plus___Moira!
ReplyDeleteThose hair pieces!
DeleteI've never heard of any of those TV shows. There's just so many ways to get programing now it's confusing! I've read and liked Margaret Atwood but don't recall ever reading Crichton. After reading your 'review' I probably never will.
ReplyDeleteNo thecreview was Harlen Coben..Chrichton is a sci fi fighter and the book I am waiting for is the sequel to The Andromeda Strain.
DeleteThe TV show and movies are all on Netflux. The airushman.is nominated for multiple Academy awards so I will get to it soon.
DeleteWould love to see more pictures of your knitting and crafting projects so I can live vicariously lol.
ReplyDeleteI will try and share more than I do.
DeleteI've not seen Schitt's Creek but have heard it's good. I tend to watch more detective/medical type programs and can't keep up with those either.
ReplyDeleteAs for reading I've not read Harlen Coben either or (gasp!) Margaret Atwood. I'm not a very good Canadian, am I?
Have fun with the fabric!
I watch more detective shows also so this is put of character for me.
DeleteSorry everyone, my spelling on all the replies is godawful, I was answering in bed this morning.
ReplyDeleteHooray for the bed office! I used to LOVE Harlan Coben but not as much in recent years. Getting too unbelievable. Haven't read Atwood but am going to library today, so will give reading another try.
ReplyDeleteYou are so good about leftovers. I'm about the only one who eats leftovers, so I rarely have to make my own lunch. Kidults don't eat "lunch" they just munch. Boys aren't into leftovers very much.
You are so organized to get things accomplished ... I admire you and Misadventures of Widowhood. I'm still in my lazy phase ... served with a huge portion of procrastination!
