Today's big project was one I had no part in except to observe and kibbutz. See that fence down at the very bottom of the picture? The one that divides the yard? Well, on the other side are four chickens, three barking, playful dogs that behave like but are not attack style dogs (we have two of our own that do the exact same thing) and two kids. Lets just say we were having some serious dog to dog contact at, or maybe on, the fence. Never mind the landscaping damage done. Yea, sometimes that 55 plus stuff looks even better that it already does.
So son and sister pulled all the black iron fencing from another portion of the yard where it would not be missed for now(we can always fence that run in later), and reset it around this area. The landscape is now protected and any dog barking will be done from a distance. A morning well spent - for them at least.
Also today was grocery delivery though the app. My grocery costs have gone up because of the fifteen dollar shopping charge and tip, but money is not being spent in many places it might be in the normal times. Time to update the menu plan and what's available. Unfortunately, no towels, TP or wipes to be found, so my sister may don her mask and go to Costco one of these mornings (they require social distancing at all times and limit people inside) for that purpose. I do have somewhere in the depths a partial leg of lamb, we have asparagus and I have rice and salad. And I also got a large chocolate gold Lindt bunny to put on the table. One for each person.
Twas mainly an "up" day. I spent time in the sun, actually managed about twenty minutes of aerobics and then some cooling down seated exercise, knitted, and my son made pasta alfredo and breadsticks for dinner. If there was a downside to the day, it would be that Fedex seems to be running far behind (totally understandable and I am not upset) and my nice white chair will get here when it gets here
I live .7 miles from a hospital entrance as the crow flies. Every night people in my neighborhood go outside at eight and howl and bang on things occasionally for one to two minutes in suppport of all the hospital workers and first responders. Now that many of the days are screen door open type, you can really hear the chorus. As well as the dogs that jump in!!
Today I am especially thankful have people to talk to and share things with in my own abode. I know how difficult it is for many. Especially those who live alone and/or in condos or apartments without the ability to even wave to friends across the street.
Oh, yes. I've been home for two and a half weeks without going anywhere. It seems I should have been starting the car, or gone driving or something. I guess I'll try to do that tomorrow and let you know how that one goes.
ETA: son and sister are considering returning to work next week after being home two weeks depending on our curve. If so I will cook so her early and eat before then and do some reasonable social distancing but not hide in my room.
